Painter, sumi-e and Chinese painting teacher, author.

I am a painter and teacher of Chinese painting and sumi-e. For more than twenty years I have taught in Spain, Mexico, and across Latin America, always in a plain, direct, approachable way.

My work sits somewhere between painting and teaching. I have run art spaces and worked with students at every level, from someone who has never picked up a brush to someone who has painted for years.

Through my books, Lindo y Querido and El Sendero de los Pinceles, I explore my own way into Chinese painting and sumi-e, one that respects tradition without being bound by it.

I split my time between Mexico and Spain, painting and teaching most weeks. If you have never touched a brush, that is fine. All you need is the will to try.
